Handling of personal information at the Free Speech Library
Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
From May 25, 2018, the entire EU has a common data protection regulation, the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). The purpose is to make higher demands on how companies and organizations treat personal data and digital footprints.
What is a personal information?
A personal information is an information about you and identifies you personally. It can, for example, be name, an e-mail address, telephone number, picture, sound recording or personal number.
Who is responsible for personal data management?

2. How and why do we collect and handle personal data?
Personal data can be collected in different places and for different purposes, depending on what you as a customer do on our website or in our e-commerce. In the following, the various purposes are described.
When you visit our website
Handling of cookies
The cookie is stored in your computer until you delete it yourself. If you want to avoid storing cookies, you can turn off the function in the browser. Depending on the browser you are using, you will proceed in different ways.
When you order in our e-commerce
When ordering books in our e-commerce, you shop without creating a user account. Upon completion of the purchase, you agree to the Free Speech Library Agreement Terms. The personal information we collect linked to your order and delivery is saved for 36 months from the time of delivery. This is for how long you have the right complain about a product according to Swedish law. After this time, only data relating to the transaction will be saved for a total of 7 years, in accordance with the Accounting Act. The information cannot then be linked to you as a person.
When making av order we need to identify who you are and will need your name and your e-mail address, to which all information regarding the order will be sent via e-mail.
In order for us to be able to send the order, we need your name, address, e-mail, and your mobile phone number if you would like to receive notification of your delivery via SMS. This information is passed on from us to the various carriers we cooperate with. Notification regarding the delivery of your package is done from one of our carriers.
Your shopping cart
If you add books to your shopping cart and enter your contact information, but then decide not to proceed with the purchase, we might send a reminder via e-mail. This service is performed based on legitimate interest and the personal information, in this case your email address, will be disconnected from this function after 14 days. Delivery data is saved for 36 months.
Offers and newsletters
If you want to receive our offers, book tips, newsletters and information, you choose to give your consent to this. Fill in your contact information which will be linked to your orders so that you will receive relevant information sent to you by e-mail, text message or telephone.
You can revoke your consent at any time and then we will remove your personal information. You can withdraw by terminating your subscription to the newsletter via the link provided in each mailing or by contacting our Customer service.
Contact with customer service
You can contact our Customer service via contact form or email. Written matters, including personal data, are saved for 12 months after the order.
3. What personal information do we share with others?
Your personal data will not be transferred outside of the Free Speech Library except for processing on the Free Speech Library’s behalf and for us to provide our services and fulfill our obligations.
4. Your rights
You have the right to receive information about what is registered about you. Such a request must be in writing and sent to [email protected] We need your social security number for identification and will send the information in writing to your address.
If you discover incorrect data about you, you have the right to request that this be corrected. You also have the right to request that we delete the data we have with about you.
You have the right to request limitation of personal data processing if you question the correctness of personal data, if the personal data processing is unauthorized and you choose the limitation of personal data instead of deletion, if the personal data are no longer needed for the purposes for which they were previously treated or if you objected. A limitation of personal data processing means that the personal data is anonymized.
If you do not want to receive advertising, offers or other information, you can contact Customer service. In all newsletters from Free Speech Library you will also find a link or instruction to be able to renounce the emails from us.
